The village is known as the oldest and longest village in Dobrich district and is the fastest growing settlement in the region. Its population is about 1200 inhabitants. Many foreign citizens have chosen it as their home.

There is a small chapel in the village, which is named "St. Archangel Michael ”. A church board of trustees has already been established and funds are being raised to build a real church. As a recently married couple looking to give up the grind of 8-6 mon-fri rat-race lifestyle... but without enough money to actually do so at home in the UK. We have always been adventurous, but after watching the series ‘Ben Fogle: New Lives in the Wild’, the idea of just quitting our jobs and moving away to start something completely new, suddenly seemed very doable.
